Yes — and this is a Surefoot speciality: Surefoot invented and patented the ski boot heater. Every Contoura custom liner comes with the heating element already integrated (four versions: X Heat, R Heat, C Heat and C Wrap) — add Winterheat batteries and you have Bluetooth app control, 10 heat levels and up to 17 hours of warmth. Winterheat can also be retrofitted into boots you already own. No other shop in Verbier offers heated custom liners.

Because almost all ski boots are built around a generic last and a flat footbed, while no foot is generic. Under skiing loads an unsupported arch collapses, the foot lengthens and slides, and pressure concentrates in all the wrong places. Pain is a fit problem, not a toughness problem — see our guides to arch pain, shin bang, toe pressure and cold feet.

Almost never. A bigger shell gives your foot more room to move, and movement is what causes most pain — sliding forward into the toes, heel lift that bruises shins, pressure points from a foot that sits crooked. The fix is support and precision, not space.

A standard shop footbed is heat-moulded: warmed flat material pressed briefly against your sole. Surefoot orthotics are milled from a solid blank on a CAD/CAM machine driven by your 538-point scan — genuine medical orthotic technology from Amfit, the company Surefoot owns. The support is engineered from data rather than pressed from an impression.
